Anorexia

Eating Disorders, specifically Anorexia and Bulimia, affect as many as 25 million individuals in America. A life-threatening disease, individuals with Eating Disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental health disorders. Often difficult to identify early, they carry great risks if left untreated.

Anorexia (or Anorexia Nervosa) is an eating disorder in which an individual restricts the intake of food to such an extent their weight is significantly affected. Many related issues typically occur with anorexia, with individuals often striving for perfectionism or control, having a distorted view of their bodies. While struggling with anorexia, individuals often become obsessed with exercise, counting calories, weighing themselves, and more. Without the proper nutrition, natural body processes are significantly affected.

Covenant Counseling offers individuals and families help with anorexia and other eating disorders. Our ReVive Program is a team approach involving several areas.
