PREMARITAL COUNSELING

PREMARITAL COUNSELING

Hope and Premarital Counseling

For many couples, engagement is an exciting time, marked by a flurry of activity while preparing for the wedding, making plans for the honeymoon, and thinking about "happily ever after."

For all the attention on the wedding, many couples may not consider as readily the marriage itself: the movement of each towards the other, and the declaration that the two shall become one.

Our Approach to Help and Healing

Covenant Counseling provides couples who are considering engagement or who are engaged to be married Premarital Counseling, and the opportunity to explore the meaning of marriage, the particular dynamics which may emerge in their marriage, and other specific aspects which are unique to their unique relationship.

Our counselors may use a combination of relational assessments (such as the Prepare-Enrich Assessment) and their own therapeutic skills to provide the experience best-suited to each couple. While specific experiences vary widely, depending on a number of factors, most pre-marital couples meet with their counselor between three and six times. A couple may have additional times with their pastor or minister.
