Alice Churnock
Licensed Professional Counselor
Alice Haygood Churnock is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist who regularly speaks and leads seminars locally and nationally. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Corporate Journalism from Auburn University, Alice earned her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Alice specializes in counseling adolescents, college students, and young adult women in areas related to anxiety, body image, eating disorders, depression, grief, and general life adjustments. She is certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): a personality assessment she frequently uses in her work with families. Alice also has experience in play therapy, art therapy, and group therapy.
Drawing from her experience, and with the genuine care and concern she has for each person she sees, Alice engages each of her clients in a way that puts them at ease and fosters the right context for hope and change.
Anna Stanley
Licensed Professional CounselorSupervisor

Anna is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Supervisor, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Biology from Samford University, she earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Anna and her husband live in the Birmingham area with their three sons, and enjoy cooking, traveling, music, and spending time with family and friends.
Though Anna has broad professional interests and experience, she works primarily in the areas of women’s issues, family issues, and eating disorders. With training in family-based therapy, experiential therapy, and clinical supervision, Anna enjoys working with individuals and families in the areas of eating disorders, body image issues, eating disorder education and support, relationship conflict, family of origin issues, depression, anxiety, and family or couple issues.
From her experience as a therapist in private practice, in a residential eating disorder treatment facility, and in college counseling services, Anna works effectively with individuals, as well as with parents or spouses, towards the restoration of relationships.
Suzanne Pirkle
Licensed and Registered Dietician
A Licensed and Registered Dietician, Suzanne earned her Bachelor’s in Nutrition from the University of Mississippi, and her Master’s in Health Education (with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After her dietetics internship at UAB, she completed a fellowship in the treatment of adolescents with eating disorders through the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. She is certified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) in adult weight management.
Suzanne works with individuals who may need nutritional counseling for any number of reasons, including eating disorders, weight concerns, athletic or competitive performance, or general health and well-being.
Believing that healthful eating is within the reach of everyone, Suzanne also recognizes the nutritional and dietary challenges that many face. She works closely with each individual to help develop a healthier, more intuitive, and more sustainable relationship with food.
