A Licensed and Registered Dietician, Suzanne earned her Bachelor’s in Nutrition from the University of Mississippi, and her Master’s in Health Education (with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Suzanne specializes in nutrition counseling for adults and adolescents in areas related to eating disorders, weight management, and sports nutrition. After her dietetics internship at UAB, she completed a fellowship in the treatment of adolescents with eating disorders through the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. She is certified by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) in adult weight management.Areas of Focus
Suzanne works with individuals who may need nutritional counseling for any number of reasons, including eating disorders, weight concerns, athletic or competitive performance, and general health and well-being.Hope, Help and Healing
Suzanne believes that healthful eating is within the reach of everyone, but also recognizes the nutritional and dietary challenges that many face. She works closely with each individual to help develop a healthier, more intuitive, and more sustainable relationship with food.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A first session typically begins by meeting the counselor and going over a few aspects related to confidentiality. The counselor will want to know what brings you to the office and will often try to gain a better sense of additional contexts. Depending on the situation, you may begin to develop initial hopes or goals for your time together, to provide greater clarity on the focus of your counseling.
Our counselors work to provide a supportive and caring environment. Issues or dynamics can then be explored and addressed towards facilitating the needed or desired change.
