Kent Michael, MEd, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Kent is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). After completing his undergraduate degree from Samford University, he finished his Master’s in Education in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Montevallo. He is currently completing a PhD in Human Development at The University of Alabama (expected completion in 2018).
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Kent works with individuals, couples and families on a wide range of issues. Some of his areas of interest include marriage counseling, pre-marital counseling, family counseling, parenting issues, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, spiritual issues, stress management, academic challenges and more. He has a particular interest in working with faculty members and students in higher education as well as other clinicians in the field of mental health.
In addition to his practice as a therapist and his doctoral work, Kent is also an adjunct professor both at Samford University and the University of Montevallo. He is married, and the father of three children.
